Olympic Distance Triathlon

The Olympic Distance Triathlon features a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run.

It is open to solo athletes and relay teams.

The swim is parallel shore swim in the clean waters of Lake Huron. The water temperatures in past years have averaged 21C, wetsuits have been allowed in past years. The swim will be cancelled if the lake is rough making it unsafe for the athletes or volunteers. The swim has been cancelled four times in the thirty one year history of the event. If the swim is cancelled, the Triathlon will be converted to a Duathlon.

The bike is a very fast flat paved 40 km out and back course though the low traffic roads of Lambton County. There will be a lead pace car, a trail vehicle and a roving SAG wagon to supply technical assistance. The course is well marked with volunteers at each intersection and turn.

The 10 km run is an out and back loop along the Lake Huron shoreline. You will pass seven water stations on the run course. Washrooms available on the run course in transition and at 3 and 7 km.

We will be using computer chip timing.

The awards ceremony will recognize the winner of the Lambton Chiropractic Chase challenge with a $250 cash prize, the top three men and women overall, and the top three men and women in each 10 year age group with plaques.

All athletes receive a unique themed Technical T shirt as part of the registration, as well as access to the famed post race feast.
